The Canopy Lodge itself is built next to a mountain stream and near the protected area of Cerro Gaital Natural Monument. The foothills of central Panama are a perfect background for any nature explorer. The lodge features some of the best tropical bird watching to be found in the world, gracious accommodations, unspoiled nature access to interesting activities, and a nearby authentic village.

Canopy Lodge Activities

The Observation Verandah at the Canopy Lodge is just feet from the bedrooms and offers a comfortable and relaxed area with bird feeders to attract an amazing variety of feather friends.  Some of the most frequent bird visitors include motmots, tanagers, aracaris, and euphonias.

For a truly picturesque sight, visit the Chorro del Macho Waterfall. This pristine area is perfect for any kind of nature-lover to explore, thanks to the pristine environment.  A large natural swimming pool – created by diverting water from the crystal-clear Guayabo River – is perfect for those hot days – and half the fun is the rope swings hung over and near the water!

Canopy Lodge Rooms

The Canopy Lodge contains 12 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. These spacious rooms contain either a King-size bed or two Queen-sized beds. The rooms in the main lodge each have a balcony that overlooks the gardens and the stream, while the rooms in the single-room building have a large wall of windows for views of the garden. Rooms include ceiling fans, desk and chair, reading lamps, towel warmer, and storage space. The Canopy Lodge has Wifi as well.
