Daily Itinerary

Day 1


Arrive Gran Hotel, San Jose

Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica transfer to the Gran Hotel in the heart of downtown for overnight. Enjoy all the luxuries of this historic newly renovated ideally situated on the main Avenida Central with views overlooking the National Theatre. Explore top museums, restaurants, and markets – all within easy walking distance of your hotel!

Day 2

Pacuare River Rafting: Class III-IV Rapids

The Pacuare River is famous for its magnificent beauty and world-class whitewater. This one-day trip takes you down 19 miles (29 km) of Class 3 & 4 rapids through remote rainforests past cascading waterfalls and exotic wildlife. Your adventure begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your San Jose hotel. On the way to the Pacuare River, you will stop for breakfast. When you arrive at the rafting put-in, you will meet your certified rafting guides and get outfitted with all the necessary equipment. They will give you a comprehensive rafting safety talk and instruct you on paddling basics. Then, you will begin to paddle deep into the heart of one of Costa Rica’s most impressive primary rainforests. A picnic lunch, prepared by your guides, will be served at one of the beautiful riverside shores. When you reach the take-out point, you will go to a place where you can shower and change clothes before returning to San Jose. Overnight Gran Hotel.

Day 3

Transfer to Drake Bay, Osa Peninsula

This morning, transfer to the San Jose airport for your short flight to Drake Bay on the remote Osa Peninsula. Upon arrival, a ground transfer will take you to Aguila de Osa Rainforest Lodge for your overnight stay. Nestled between the tropical rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, this secluded lodge offers both comfort and elegance. Perched above the water’s edge, the spacious rooms feature mesh windows that allow refreshing tropical breezes to flow through. This evening, unwind with happy hour at the bar, and throughout your stay, enjoy family-style meals in the open-air restaurant.

Day 4

Corcovado National Park Hike

This morning take a boat ride to the entrance of Corcovado National Park, which protects over 100,000 acres and many of the country’s endangered species. National Geographic ranks this park as “the most biologically intense place on earth.” Have a refreshing swim in a waterfall before returning to Aguila de Osa Inn for overnight.

Day 5

Snorkeling at Cano Island Biological Reserve

The island is one of the best places in the country for scuba diving and snorkeling – especially among the big fish like bull and white tip sharks! Spotted dolphins occasionally follow boats. During certain times of the year, humpback whales or manta rays in vast numbers pass through the area. Overnight Aguila de Osa Inn. (Or certified divers can substitute a full day Scuba diving tour at additional cost)

Day 6


Transfer to Manuel Antonio / Quepos

This morning you will transfer by boat to Sierpe where you will be met and transferred approximately 2 hours to Manuel Antonio / Quepos on the Central Pacific coast. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel Si Como No overnight. This hotel is an exemplary combination of environmentalism, stunning design, and barefoot luxury.

Day 7

Manuel Antonio Free Day

Take a short shuttle ride down to the beach. Discover the lush coast and beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park. Overnight Hotel Si Como No.

Day 9

Depart San Jose, Costa Rica

This morning you will be met and driven approximately 3 hours to San Jose International Airport for your afternoon international flight home
